DevMethodVS Tools | Help
Welcome to DevMethodVS Tools, a cutting-edge plugin designed to streamline and enhance the efficiency of developers. This tool is an essential ally in navigating the evolving landscape of DevOps and adherence to project processes. It assists in crafting precise check-in comments, annotating methods accurately, and selecting the appropriate work items for check-in associations.
Adopting a straightforward policy, DevMethodVS ensures that every task is linked to a parent work item, whether it's a bug, user story, or any equivalent item. This connection guarantees comprehensive traceability of what's delivered in each release, thereby enriching the project data.
Conceived and refined over several years in tandem with its application in D365FO implementation projects, this tool embodies practical insights from these projects. Initially aimed at aiding Axapta developers transition to D365FO developers within the Visual Studio environment, it has become a beacon for navigating the new realms of DevOps, including Work Items, Boards, and Backlogs.
DevMethodVS focuses on the crux of a developer's role: coding. By demystifying the new operational models, it allows developers, especially those in our organization and others we've collaborated with, to concentrate on their primary skill—writing code.
While its primary audience is Dynamics 365FO developers adjusting to new workflows, DevMethodVS has evolved to meet diverse needs. It is now an invaluable tool for any TFVC-based project, regardless of the platform.
